Editor's Note: This is a great read, especially for the ANVIL men who are in the Colossians Bible Study. The following scanned article from the 1985 Pentecostal Testimony was written by Walter E. McAlister when he was 80 years old.
Walter E. McAlister (1953-1962) was the eldest son of John McAlister. He became the fifth General Superintendent of the PAOC in 1953. Baptized in the Holy Spirit as a small child and experiencing the Pentecostal revival happening all around him, he was greatly influenced by A. H. Argue. Led by the power of the Holy Spirit, he began his work in Emmaville, Sakatchewan as a 21 year-old. God enlarged the work of this man as he shared the Good News of salvation in rural areas. He was elected General Superintendent of the PAOC in 1953 and hosted the World Pentecostal Conference in Toronto in 1958. There was an amazing growth in missions and the fellowship during this time. No longer was the PAOC a small insignificant blimp on the religious stage. It was becoming a formidable move of God. There was one vision to fulfill and McAlister followed it. The anointing of the Holy Spirit led him to communicate the message of God to a society that was speedily entering the technological age. God continued upon the throne with an unchangeable message of hope through the McAlister years.

Remember the days of old;
consider the generations long past.
Ask your father and he will tell you,
your elders, and they will explain to you.
